Guinness cake was AWESOME

Standard

Seriously, one of the more delectable chocolate cakes I’ve eaten. You couldn’t taste the beer, it wasn’t cloyingly sweet, it had a nice crumb. NOM.

  1. Cooking with Beer
Beer is basically grain(malt), yeast, hops and water. The ‘beer taste’ is mostly volitile and gets cooked out. You’d need a very strongly flavored beer for anything except a subtle flavor at the end of anything cooked.

  4. I will totally have to try it. I was suspicious initially because I’ve tried making beer bread a few times and it ends up still having a beer taste – it’s the easiest thing in the world to make though.
    Okay – recipe bookmarked.
